Our patients know The Good Drop is nothing without our care team, those nurses who work so hard every day to provide our patients with calming environments for healing.
That’s why we’re happy to spotlight our team members: for current patients to get to know them better, and for prospective patients to learn who will be caring for them once they’re here.
Today, we’re highlighting Kelly Wilson, RN, LNC, PHRN. She’s one of the bedrocks of our practice. If you’ve been here for services, you’ve definitely seen her smiling face at the first window when you enter our office.
Kelly’s philosophy of healthcare is based on compassion and understanding for the complexities of our patients’ mental health struggles. Her overarching goal is to provide quality ketamine therapy to as many people as possible in our area and the greater Northeast.
Hear from Kelly below on what moves her and how she views her work at The Good Drop!
What got you started in healthcare?
Kelly Wilson: I’ve always been drawn to helping people in their most vulnerable moments. Healthcare gave me the opportunity to combine my love for science with a deep desire to serve others. The fast-paced, problem-solving nature of emergency medicine was a perfect fit early in my career.
What did you learn from working as an emergency room nurse?
Kelly Wilson: Working in the ER taught me to stay calm under pressure, think critically in fast-moving situations, and never underestimate the impact of compassionate care—even when there’s only a minute to connect with someone.
How did you come to work with Mara and Dr. James at The Good Drop?
Kelly Wilson: I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Mara and Dr. James for over a decade. Our shared commitment to patient-centered care and our trust in each other made teaming up for The Good Drop a natural next step. We’ve seen firsthand how innovation in healthcare can change lives, and we wanted to bring that same energy and integrity into this space.
What is your philosophy of care at The Good Drop?
Kelly Wilson: My philosophy is to treat each patient as a whole person—not just a diagnosis. That means listening deeply, creating a safe and supportive environment, and working together to find the most effective path toward healing. Every patient’s journey is unique, and our role is to walk alongside them.
What do you enjoy about working in ketamine therapy?
Kelly Wilson: Ketamine therapy offers a new level of hope for people who have struggled for years with depression, PTSD, or chronic pain. I love seeing the transformations—big and small—that can happen, sometimes in a matter of weeks. Being part of that process is incredibly rewarding.
What drives you in your healthcare career?
Kelly Wilson: I’m driven by the belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, cared for, and supported in their healing journey. Whether it’s been in the ER or at The Good Drop, my purpose has always been to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. That’s what keeps me showing up every day.
