Our Ketamine Treatment Serving Pittston, PA

peaceful waterfall in the forest

At the Good Drop, we know the traditional methods of treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and chronic pain don’t always succeed. In some cases, the side effects can make things seem worse.

If things seem hopeless for you, we want you to know our IV ketamine and Spravato nasal spray treatments have worked wonders for our patients.

IV ketamine therapy is one of our most popular services at the Good Drop, and for good reason. We call it the gold standard for quickly alleviating the debilitating symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and numerous types of chronic pain.

Ketamine affects the brain’s N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors to regulate your mood and pain. This happens quickly after an infusion, meaning you may start to feel better after just a few hours. And the effects of the ketamine compound over time, meaning you may need less frequent infusions as you go.

Our patients often tell us their ketamine treatments have helped them in ways their standard oral medications haven’t. From bipolar disorder to depression to fibromyalgia, ketamine has shown promise for all of it.

The Good Drop is also a certified provider of Spravato nasal spray ketamine. This ketamine variant is FDA-approved to treat major depressive disorder, particularly when traditional antidepressants haven’t worked.

Spravato produces fewer racing thoughts than IV ketamine. Instead, you should feel deeply peaceful and “floaty” during your session. Although every patient may respond differently to Spravato, this treatment can produce rapid antidepressant results.

What Is Ketamine Therapy Like at the Good Drop?

Our only purpose at the Good Drop is to help you feel better from whatever mental or physical condition is ailing you. Here’s what you’ll experience as a ketamine patient with us:

  1. Our staff physician, Dr. Russell E. James II, and a member of our nursing team will consult with you by phone to learn more about your condition and determine your suitability for ketamine therapy.
  2. Once we all agree on your treatment approach, we’ll schedule your first appointment at our clinic at 824 McAlpine St. in Avoca.
  3. To help you feel completely relaxed during your IV ketamine or Spravato session, we’ll let you choose your own infusion room. You may respond to the colors, artwork, and mood lighting in a certain room. Choose from the Black & White room, the Antelope Canyon room, and numerous others!
  4. We’ll create a meditative environment for your session by turning down the lights, playing peaceful music, and providing you with different-colored light therapy to support your therapeutic process.
  5. You can expect your IV ketamine infusion to last between 45 minutes and an hour. You may experience feelings of dissociation, racing thoughts, and a generally peaceful feeling. You might feel a little dizzy or nauseous afterward, but these feelings subside relatively quickly.
  6. Spravato nasal spray sessions can last up to two hours. Unlike IV ketamine, Spravato tends to produce a whole-body sense of peace alongside a “floaty” feeling. You may not dissociate as much with Spravato as with IV ketamine.
  7. Our nursing staff will be nearby and available throughout your session if you need anything.
