Our Ketamine Treatment Serving Kingston, PA

Chronic pain, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more can prevent you from reaching your full potential. Ketamine can restore your hope of living a better life. We offer two primary methods of ketamine delivery: IV and Spravato.

Ketamine delivered intravenously is one of the most effective methods of treating mental health conditions and pain. It can produce results rapidly, within days and sometimes even hours.

Whereas antidepressants work by increasing levels of active serotonin in the brain, ketamine manipulates the brain’s N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors to allow for new protein creation and ultimately more connections between neurons.

These new pathways can alleviate symptoms of pain, depression, mood disorders, and other mental illnesses. Ketamine may be effective when taken alongside existing oral prescriptions, but some patients are able to draw down other medications after taking ketamine.

Our clinic is certified to provide our patients with Spravato, as well. This is an FDA-approved nasal spray form of ketamine meant for treating major depressive disorder.

Spravato can produce rapid antidepressant effects for patients, even those deemed “treatment-resistant” while on oral medications and in talk therapy.

What Is Ketamine Therapy Like at the Good Drop?

If you’re here at the Good Drop, we know it isn’t because you feel great. We are here to help heal you: mind, body, and spirit. Here’s what you can expect when you receive ketamine treatment with us:

  1. You’ll begin with a phone consultation with our staff physician, Dr. Russell E. James II, and one of our nurses. This allows us to understand your needs and determine if ketamine therapy is suitable for you.
  2. Once we’ve collaboratively developed a personalized treatment plan, we’ll schedule your initial appointment at our clinic, located at 824 McAlpine St. in Avoca.
  3. Based on availability, you can choose the infusion room that resonates with you the most for your ketamine journey. We designed each room’s colors, artwork, and mood lighting to evoke a different feel for your experience.
  4. We create a calming and meditative environment for your session. We dim the room’s lighting, play soothing music, and offer you personalized light therapy to support you during your session.
  5. IV ketamine infusions typically last 45 minutes to an hour. During this time, you may experience sensations that include dissociation, rapid thoughts, and a sense of calm. Some mild dizziness or nausea may occur briefly after the infusion, but these effects usually resolve quickly.
  6. Spravato nasal spray treatments can take up to two hours. Spravato often creates a profound sense of peace throughout the body alongside a floating sensation. Dissociation is usually less pronounced with Spravato compared to IV ketamine.
  7. Our care team will be available throughout your session to guarantee your comfort.
