The Good Drop’s Angel Landmesser – Nursing Assistant

You have probably seen some new characters roaming the halls of The Good Drop, and there is truly no better roamer than Angel Landmesser.

As a nursing assistant here at The Good Drop, Angel manages just about every aspect of patient care, from inserting IVs to maintaining patient comfort throughout the ketamine infusions. She also dutifully handles more than her share of the charting, documentation, and cleanup work around the office.

Patients here can see the dedication it takes to work in mental health, and Angel has been an absolute workhorse since the day she started. Whatever needs doing, Angel is there to help.

We’re so happy to have her as part of The Good Drop team! You can learn more about her in the Q&A below.

What got you started in healthcare?

Angel Landmesser: I’ve been in the healthcare field for roughly 17 years. I started out working in a group home taking care of women with both mental and physical disabilities and just knew that helping people was something I was truly passionate about. From there I decided I was going to go take classes to be a certified nursing assistant, and that’s where my friendship with Mara began.

How did you come to work at The Good Drop?

Angel Landmesser: Does years of gentle harassment count? Honestly, I feel like I just got lucky. It was a time where I needed a change desperately, and it just so happened they were taking off and wanted to expand the team. Working at The Good Drop is the dysfunctional family everyone should get to experience, but also the care, compassion, and personal relationships are unmatched.

What do you enjoy about working in mental health?

Angel Landmesser: All of it. Building relationships with someone who is a complete stranger, helping them with their individual journey, and seeing the genuine change in their mood and outlook on life isn’t easy to put into words. It’s just a beautiful thing to witness.

What drives you in your career?

Angel Landmesser: I love learning new things every day, and challenging myself to do better. Working in an environment that makes you feel like you’re an asset drives me to want to do more, and contribute as much as possible.
